Lower School

at Devonshire House School

As each child moves from the Nursery School into the Lower School, the transition is smooth, with the pastoral journey as important as ever, as children become increasingly independent. Devonshire House nurtures confident, happy children, opening the pathway to successful academic progress.

In the Lower School, many subjects are taught by Form Teachers, who are the first point of communication for parents.  However, a number of subjects are taught by specialists.

Pupils learn to care about themselves, and each other and their environment, and good behaviour is recognised and respected with positive motivation.

Academic achievement is also carefully recognised, with pupils sharing good work, with praise for achievement and for hard work and doing one’s best.

All classes are represented on the School Council, with a member from each form attending the half-termly meetings.
